Meet Ms. Briselli
Welcome to the web home of Community 33. I am so glad that you made it!
I am the leader of 46 energetic, curious, and wonderful fifth graders! Every day they challenge me to be the best teacher I can be to help them wonder, engage, and persevere in learning.
I first knew I wanted to be a teacher when I myself was in fifth grade, probably due to my incredible teacher Miss Maloney. Each day she brought so much energy to our classroom that learning was fun and exciting! I like to think of her as my teaching role model. I went to Framingham State to pursue a degree in Elementary Education, where I picked up a concentration in Geography and Earth Science as well. I was lucky enough to complete my student teaching with another teaching role model, Kathleen Flaherty at Dunning- where I learned more about teaching from her in four months than I had in four years! I graduated from Framingham State College in the spring of 2010.
In the fall of 2010 I began my career at Dunning Elementary teaching fifth grade, a curriculum that I would soon come to love and an age group of students that loved to learn and ask questions about the world around them. In the fall of 2011, I began a MEd program at Framingham State University in STEM education. This program allowed me to investigate how science, math, technology, and especially engineering could be used in my classroom to enhance student learning. In the fall of 2013, I took a year off from fifth grade to teach third grade. I was able to learn a new curriculum, work with a wonderful group of teachers, and gain perspective of how learning builds from year to year. I earned my Masters in Elementary Education with a concentration in STEM in the spring of 2014.
The start of the 2019-20 school year will bring my 10th year of teaching and I am humbled by the experience of working with children every day! Each day is a new experience and I am grateful to be along for the ride!
